“I’m not usually a fan of traditional self-help books, but “Hot Mess to Mindful Mom” had me laughing and sympathizing with the author from chapter one. This is one of the first books I’ve read on mindfulness and gratitude that’s willing to admit just how hard it can be to be thankful and happy when surrounded by chaos. Katz is funny, real, and relatable, providing practical (and actually achievable) advice on how to let go and enjoy life, even on the days it doesn’t seem very enjoyable.”- Dawn D.
Just in time to make your adult summer reading list, meditation teacher, mindfulness coach, and Bellaire mother of two, Ali Katz, will be releasing her debut eBook Hot Mess to Mindful Mom ($9.99, www.amazon.com) on May 19, 2015 via her web site for free and then it will go live on Amazon on May 21. This release is in advance of the planned, national fall paperback release of the same title. As a pre-release offer, for a limited time until May 19, the eBook release is free to download at www.atozenmeditation.com.
Katz is passionate about sharing her love of meditation and mindfulness with her students in a down-to-earth and authentic way. After Katz embarked on her spiritual journey in 2012, she noticed she had lower stress levels, less anxiety, more patience, and was more present in all areas of her life. Katz gives all her tips in her eBook, which aims to help mothers who feel like their lives are “hot messes” by teaching them ways to live lives full of gratitude, calm, and joy.
“Until a few years ago, I had days where I felt that I was having a hard time making it through the day until bedtime. I realized that there was another way- one where I felt that I was savoring every moment of raising my kids. I wanted to find a way to not only be a better mom, but also a better person. This book is for moms that want to live a more balanced and mindful life, allowing them to stress less and enjoy more of everything. I have personally implemented every one of these strategies and techniques into my own life. From the bottom of my heart, these tips changed my life and helped me transform from a Hot Mess to a Mindful Mom,” said Katz.
Some of the topics readers will learn more about from the 40 Tips featured include (but are not limited to):
- Self-care and Self-love
- Creating Rituals
- Forgiving yourself and others
- Cultivating gratitude
- Mindful eating
- One-minute meditations
- Expanding time
Katz breaks her tips down into three categories: non-negotiables (things done daily); add-ons (done as needed); and attitude adjustments. The “bite size” chapters make it easy to grab ideas and put them to work immediately. These tips aren’t about short-term fixes, but are offering ways to bring positive change into moms lives for the long run.
