In an attempt to reach more kids and provide more family entertainment, Netflix is bringing back some old favorites including a remake of ‘Inspector Gadget.’
“It’s one of those shows where we’re able to hit a few different audiences,” said Erik Barmack, VP of global independent content at Netflix. “We think that kids are going to love the show … but it’s also going to get some co-viewing because there is a generation of parents who grew up on the original.”
Besides the beloved 80’s cartoon about a bumbling private eye, Netflix will also be bringing back the Care Bears, Magic School Bus, Popples and Danger Mouse.
The subscription channel also has a deal with Dreamworks Animation for 300 hours of original programming and recently acquired some children’s shows including the Canadian show Some Assembly Required.
