Family-Friendly Thanksgiving Dining Options Around Houston

Thanksgiving Day may not always present itself with a sit-down dinner with a slow-baked turkey surrounded by family, if that’s the case, HFM rounded up a small sampling of family-friendly restaurants willing to wait on your family this Thanksgiving. 

Golden Corral

Various locations
A combination of Thanksgiving favorites and regular menu items make this popular buffet an easy choice when you’re looking to please a variety of taste buds. Added bonus: the laid-back atmosphere is perfect for kids who have the energy to burn. Restaurant hours and pricing vary by location. 

Landry’s

Various locations 
The seafood restaurant is serving up their regular menu throughout the day. Cost and operating hours vary by location. 

Buca di Beppo

The Woodlands and Buffalo Speedway
Thanksgiving Feast served family style. In addition to the special Thanksgiving meal, patrons will also be able to order regular menu items. Holiday hours vary by location.

Cracker Barrel

Various locations 
Three different dining options for patrons: dine-in with a full, traditional Thanksgiving meal starting at 11 AM (hours and pricing vary by location), carry-out their Homestyle Turkey ‘n Dressing Family Meal To-Go (feeds 6 for $67.99), or carry out their new Heat n’ Serve Holiday Family Meals To-Go (feeds 10 for $109.99).  Carry-out meals are available while supplies last. You can order online ahead of time. 

Need to pick up a pie to take to dinner with family? Choose from pecan, chocolate pecan, apple pecan streusel, or apple pie. Pies are available for carry-out through December 24. 

House of Pies

Various locations  
This Houston landmark establishment will be serves up home-style cooking on Thanksgiving. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites will be available all day, as well as a variety of their Houston-famous pies and cakes. Seating is first come, first served on Thanksgiving Day. 

The Aquarium

Two locations: Kemah and Downtown
Beginning Thanksgiving morning, The Aquarium will be serving up all of the traditional Thanksgiving staples, as well as providing a buffet for the kids, a Prime Rib carving station, an omelet station, and more. Patrons will also receive attraction discounts with their meal. Reservations are required.  

Luby’s

Various locations 
Whether you’re dining in or simply want to pick up a Thanksgiving dinner to go, Luby’s has you covered. Looking to feed a crowd? Luby’s offers Thanksgiving feasts to go. They even have easy-to-follow reheating instructions for your to go orders. 

Waffle House

Various locations
A variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner favorites 24 hours a day, 365 days a year at Waffle House- including Thanksgiving Day! Their kid’s menu includes options such as cheeseburgers, grilled cheese, eggs, and waffles.

Denny’s

Various locations
Featuring special, seasonal-inspired plates for a limited time, such as their new Pumpkin Spice Pancake Breakfast, Holiday Turkey Melt, Turkey and Dressing Dinner, and the ever-favorite pumpkin and pecan pies. Denny’s is also offering a carry-out Turkey and Dressing Dinner Pack that serves 4 for $35.99. 

Babin’s Seafood House

Various locations
Enjoy your Thanksgiving meal from 11 a.m.- 6 p.m. Thanksgiving day special will include choice of turkey, ham, or a combination of both for $18.99. To go packages with turkey, ham, and all the trimmings are also available for 8-24 people. Reservations are recommended.

Cadillac Bar

1802 Shepherd Dr.
From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. the restaurant is offering a brunch buffet stocked with more than 40 different options, including all the traditional holiday favorites, breakfast items, build-your-own taco station, and more. Kid-friendly options include macaroni and cheese, chicken tenders, fried fish, and spaghetti. Thanksgiving brunch buffet is $29.99 for adults, $18.99 for seniors, and $9.99 for children. Reservations are recommended.

Katz’s Deli

Various locations
Katz’s never closes…even on Thanksgiving! Both Katz’s locations are offering a full menu of all of their New York-style deli favorites. Kids options include staples like cheeseburgers, spaghetti and meatballs, and cheese pizza. 

IHOP

Various locations
Regular menu item favorites all day long. Still want a taste of the holidays without the turkey? Be sure to check out their fall-inspired Pumpkin Cinn-A-Stack Pancakes, as well as their new French Toast Hot Chocolate. Holiday hours vary by location. 

Boston Market

Various locations 
Thanksgiving entree options: roasted turkey breast or a half rotisserie chicken. Each meal comes with two sides, a dinner roll, and a slice of apple or pumpkin pie for $12.99, making it both an affordable and filling option this holiday. Boston Market also offers catering and to-go options for Thanksgiving, as well as a new delivery option this year. 

The Moody Gardens Hotel

7 Hope Blvd., Galveston
Traditional Thanksgiving faire on Galveston Bay at The Moody Gardens Hotel. The buffet also features an eclectic mix of breakfast items such as omelets and sticky buns, as well as carved meats, a salad station, and many dessert options. Reservations are available from 11 a.m.- 3 p.m. in the Frances Moody Ballroom. Thanksgiving buffet is $59 for adults, $49 for seniors, $29 for kids (4-12) and FREE for kids 3 and under. 

Saltgrass Steakhouse

Various locations
Thanksgiving Day with options that include burgers, seafood, salads, tasty appetizers, and (of course) steak. You can also enjoy a slice of their seasonal pumpkin cheesecake for dessert. Holiday hours vary by location.

Ryan’s

1413 N. Loop 336 West, Conroe
Homestyle favorites like fried chicken, chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and cornbread dressing will be served on Thanksgiving Day. 

Dot Coffee Shop

7006 I-45, Houston
Open 24 hours a day, this legendary south Houston diner will be offering a full traditional Thanksgiving Day meal all day. Stop in for turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes, cornbread, and a slice of their traditional pecan or apple pies.

South Shore Harbour Resort

2500 South Shore Blvd., League City
Traditional Thanksgiving favorites with an upscale flare. Feast on prime rib and turkey, and then enjoy a full dessert buffet. Reservations are required with times available from 10:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. Thanksgiving brunch is $48 for adults, $22 for kids (6-12) and FREE for kids 5 and under.
