Welcome home, Houston Symphony! Rave reviews for the European Tour of 2018 are everywhere- but we LOVED this SHOUT OUT to HFM parents with aspiring musicians at home!
Vanessa Astros, Senior Director of Communications, sent us a message from Munich, Germany, reminding us that these talented folks were children who took lessons, practiced and put in the hard work to be doing what they LOVE today! #HSinEurope #musitomyears #practicemakesperfect #houstonfamily
Vanessa Astros, Senior Director of Communications, Houston Symphony, gives a SHOUT OUT to HFM. “Hello, Houston Family Magazine readers and Facebook friends. I’m here with the Houston Symphony on our last tour stop of our major European Tour in Munich. These talented musicians were once like your children- loving music, attending lessons and practicing, practicing, and practicing some more. Hard work pays off! Follow our international journey on our social media channels and on our website houstonsymphony.org.”
The Houston Symphony’s triumphant 2018 European tour saw the orchestra perform triumphant concerts to enthusiastic, sold-out crowds in Brussels, Belgium; Warsaw, Poland; Vienna, Austria; and Essen, Berlin, Hamburg, Hannover and Munich, Germany. Spirits were high, curtain calls were plentiful, and the response—from critics, overseas patrons, and musicians alike—was truly extraordinary!
The Houston Symphony shared the journey with three-time Grammy Award winner Hilary Hahn, who brought a seamless chemistry to each performance of Bernstein’s Serenade, a piece that was featured on one of her first recordings as a young “star in the making.” #HSinEurope
